Saline implants consist of safe, sterile salt water solution. The implants may be pre-filled or filled while you are having your surgery. One of the advantages of saline implants for breast augmentation is that if a leak develops, you will know it right away because the breast deflates as the saline solution is leaked out. Being sterile salt water, your body will safely absorb the solution in the event of a rupture or leak.

In either type of breast augmentation surgery, there are multiple choices for where the incisions will be placed. If you opt to have the surgery, this is something you should discuss with your doctor beforehand, along with the size and shape you want.
